I just upgraded from 100/100. I actually requested 500/500 but got gigbit instead. No big deal. With discounts, my price went down slightly. If I can't get comparable discounts when they expire in 6 months I'll downgrade to 500/500.
Anyway, in the process of testing things, I found out my trusty, TP-Link AC wifi/router tops out at only 350 Mbps. I've run double routers for years in order to use OpenWRT and had to temporarily bypass the TP-Link router in order to get gigabit speeds. Again, no big deal, as I'm about to move my routing functionality to a new, SFF box running OPNsense.
My question is this. I know I need to keep the Arris NVG468MQ in the mix for its cable modem functionality but can I bypass its routing functionality. Specifically, can I run the ethernet out of the MOCA adapter straight to my OPNsense box?
