[FiberOptic] Just some info for those signing up for 2gig service

Sup, haven't really been an active member here as a content submittor, but figured i'd just give some general data points for anyone interested. Just signed up for 2gig service (in SoCal). I previously had 1Gig service AND I lived in an area that had the newest Fox ONT's (FOX 222 XGS-PON ONT). Even 2 years ago when I got service, they activated the ONT's 10 Gig Port - and the port itself has always negotiated (for me) with your my router at 10gig uplink, even if it was just delivering 1gig speeds. For my service, since I was on XGS-PON, and the 10gig port was activated, they didn't have to do anything at all. They showed up, said they HAD to leave me with a router despite me letting them know that I'd use my own, they turned the router on, ran a speed test, and then boom done. The router the provide is one I've never heard of, but I've attached pics and the model below for anyone curious! Model: Sagemcom - FWR226e - FAST 5290 Things to note: --You will need a 2.5gb or better connection ALL THE WAY THROUGH the network to use 2gig speeds. --Frontier provides a router that has a 2.5GB WAN link and 2x 2.5GB LAN links - It also does Wifi 6. --If you are using prosumer or higher end routing/network equipment, you'll need 2.5gb or 10gb negotiation otherwise you won't be able to use the full speed. I use a UDM-Pro router (non SE) meaning I have a 1gig wan port and 1 10gig SFP port. ---I got connectivity with my home networking gear really easily, didn't have to restart my ONT or anything after he left. I just connect from ONT's 10GB RJ45 into my UDM-Pro 10gig SFP port (Im using a ubiquiti 10gig SFP converter which I plug in the RJ45 into). The UDM-Pro negotiates to 10gigs and I get the full speed (I get about 2.2 download and 2.4 upload when speedtesting directly from the UDM). From there I have 10gig links to 2 switches which all distribute via 2.5gb rj45. Let me know if anyone has any questions re: install, hardware, etc and I'll do my best to answer. FWIW (I live in Socal, specifically down near the beach in LA) and they said I was the 2nd install they've done so far in their footprint (which is Manhattan beach, redondo beach, torrance, el segundo, etc), so it seems its not as high of a demand as I originally though.
