Quick question: A relative in Southern CT has Frontier FIOS. They have a Frontier Arris router, hooked up to the ONT via CAT 6a. No video service, no voice. Just internet.
Tech came by to "swap" the Arris for an Eero. They hooked the Eero up to the Arris via a LAN port, and left the Arris! This seems ass backwards. FWIW, the Arris status page says "DHCP via 802.1X". I'd imagine the Frontier provided Eero supports this. Was the tech just clueless? Does my relative need both devices, or can they dump the Arris and only run the Eero?
Some seems not right here.
