DHCP Problems

So I have had 2 gig service for about a month. I am hooked straight from my Asus AX11000 to my fox222 ont. I am connected to the 10gig port of my ont and to the 2.5ghz port on my Asus. What’s happening is if I have to reboot the router for anything at all or even release or renew the IP address of the router the ONT needs to be powered down and rebooted. If I don’t power down the ONT I get DHCP Error on my router. It’s fine once the ONT is rebooted. I even contacted ASUS and got a brand new replacement thinking something was wrong with my original. Latest firmware is installed and same issue with the new one. I am running out of ideas of what could be going on. Anyone run into this issue? I also tried changing Wan settings from aggressive to normal and also tried continuously and same problem.
