Is it possible for Frontier to change my settings in my router? When i first got Frontier Fios i turned off the total control garbage because i was getting DSL speeds at best. So i turned it off for 2.4 and 5ghz and changed the channel. Tonight i was getting dialup speeds and i didn't know why, that is until i looked in the router and total control was enabled again. It was so slow i couldn't even watch a video without it buffering at normal speed.

[FIOS] So Cal Internet pricing
Thinking of moving to a streaming service and just keeping my FIOS 100/100 plan. I'm tired of playing the annual re-negotiating my pricing game then find out on my next bill the charges are $10-$15 dollars more than what they quoted me.
I realize with no bundle I'll have no leverage - but my FIOS (ex Verizon) service has been outstanding since day 1. Rock solid DL/UL at 105/120. Anyone know what range of pricing I'm going to have to pay just for the 100/100 plan?
and I'm not interested in higher plans even though I could go to 200/200 for and additional $5/mo. that only lasts a year then they jack it up to $10/mo. 100/100 is more than enough for me.
also - I'm not currently paying the modem charge (I do have a cable card charge). not sure others in so cal are getting hit with that yet.

Internet goes off at 8am every day until 7pm
I'm so frustrated, its been a month and a half, 2 new modems, 3 tech visits and still we lose our internet every morning at 8am until 7pm at night.
Customer service is awful, I have spent hours on hold.
I just dont get it.
Before this our internet was slow of course :(but we gave up on changing that years ago but it always worked at least a little. Now it only works at night.
Any ideas? :(
We are using the NVG443B modem.

[Internet] Unacceptable wait time.
My Internet is down and Frontier says they need to send out a tech. The soonest they can send one out is in two weeks. So I am out of luck for two whole weeks. This wait time is totally unacceptable. What a terrible company. I wish I had an alternative but in this location they are the only game in town.

What is required for 500/500 upgrade from 200/200
Hello,
I already have 200/200 at home so I have Ethernet running from ONT into home. I have been told that I need tech visit to get 500/500 during upgrade which I questioned since I said that I already have 200/200 with Ethernet. They told me they will try to upgrade from office and if it would not work then tech will visit. It has been 24 hours since order was placed now, does it mean but speed is still the same at home. Does it mean upgrade in fact requires some hardware changes at home or it might take longer then 24 hours ot activate?

[Fios] WA speed upgrade to 500/500
Just chatted to frontier and got them to upgrade me from 200/200 to 500/500 for $88.99.
This is the same price as I was paying for 200/200.
Told me I had to upgrade my equipment for $9.99 shipping. Said this was new optermised router. My existing frontier fios router is only 6 months old. Suspect I'm going to get a same router or bone at all.
Just thought others in Washington state may want to know about this.

[Internet] Arris NVG443B constantly losing contact to nameserver - bonded DSL
Arris NVG443B constantly dropping internet:
Frontier replaced their old modem, which was a different brand, with a Arris NVG443B about 4 weeks ago on a bonded DSL line. Every since then, it has been dropping internet every 2 to 3 minutes for about 10 to 30 seconds, just long enough to disconnect me from all my Remote Desktop Connections. I've had 6 technicians come to the house, 5 new modems in the past month, and countess calls to Frontier's technical support. Each modem had exactly the same issue. It happens regardless of whether I am connected wirelessly or directly to the modem. I easily duplicated the problem for each technician. I even showed them the logs from the modem, that pretty well shows why the internet is dropping. It appears that the modem is loosing contact with the Frontier nameserver. Every time it drops there is a no responses from nameserver '74.40.74.41' in the status log. Does anyone know how to succesfully change it to use a third party DNS nameserver. I've tried to several times but if I select Static DNS and enter the IP address for other DNS servers or even enter the IP addresses 74.40.74.40 and 74.40.74.41 and reboot it, I always get a PAP authentication failed as seen in the second log below, so the WAN never comes up and never has an IPv4 Address. Even if I switch it back to Dynamic DNS, it will not work again until I reset it to factory settings. I've been told that the Arris NVG443B is the only bonded DSL modem Frontier uses. If I went a bought a different brand modem, would I have the same issue because it is still Frontier. Unfortunately, Frontier is the only choice where we live and bonded DSL is the "fastest" internet available here. I've contacted Arris customer support as well, but they don't support these modems as they were produced for Frontier. My wife and I both work remotely and get paid based on what we produce. It's impossible to do any work, so we haven't gotten paid in the last three weeks. Please help.
Here is part of the latest status log from the modem:

Arris NVG443B constantly dropping internet
Every single day at least 5 times a day my router drops internet. A reset fixes it for a short amount of time before it goes out again. I had Frontier come and check it out and upgrade my firmware but it hasn’t helped. If there’s are any numbers you’d like me to post to help you, please let me know.

[FIOS] New ONT Install for 500/500 Upgrade
I was finally able to get upgraded from 200/200 to 500/500. I already had I-211M-L installed by Verizon in 2015. The tech insisted on installing a new ONT model ONT1000GT4-OPT-FTR. He said the old ONT was technically compatible but they are changing out all old Verizon equipment to standardize. I'm very happy with the new service. I'm getting 520/550 on most speed tests. But... The ONT install seems not quite right.
There's a tiny yellow fiber optic cable just hanging out of the back part of the ONT going into the the front piece. I'm concerned it could get damaged with Florida weather. I've attached pictures. Should I be concerned or I am just being extra OCD??

two lines both keep dropping constantly
I've been reading on this site alot lately and finally joined so I could ask for maybe some help. I live about 16000 ft from the office and the highest speed we can get is 1.5mb which we have had for over 10 years without much issue. We decided to get a second line, at the same speed of course, so we could do more than one thing at a time you know watch netflix and look at facebook or twitter. After a month of waiting they finally installed and nothing has worked since. I immediately noticed noise on my phone the day of install and asked the tech he said it should be fine. That was 3 1/2 weeks ago and nothing has worked right since.
I have a netgear 7550 on the original line and they put a Arris on the new line they both constantly drop connection. The Arris will drop every 10 minutes the netgear will sometimes stay on for a bit but never at our correct speed. When we try to talk on the phone we can't hear anyone because of all the noise. The second line is supposedly dsl only so I've not hooked a phone up to it to see if it's the same.

I've called support probably 20 times they don't understand what I'm telling them and we do the same troubleshooting steps every time. What I'd like to find out is this, is there anything that I can say to get some help. We're paying for two lines and can't use either or if one does connect for any amount of time it's not at a speed that you can do anything more than email. Thanks for reading.

ARRIS NVG468MQ Access Modem UI in Bridge Mode
I recently signed up and got 500/500 from Frontier. Since I have have a unifi setup at home, I immediately put it in bridge mode to leverage my router (USG 4 Pro). If the modem is in bridge mode with a WAN IP, how do I access the typical modem UI to turn off certain features like wifi, etc.? I can't access the standard 192.168.254.254 and with my previous Spectrum router, I was able to get to the modem UI by using an address of 192.168.100.1 or something like that. Does anyone know what the admin UI IP is once in bridge mode for this router? If not, do I just need to reset it to defaults, connect to it via the original 192.168.254.254, make my updates and then switch it to bridge mode?

[Router] NVG443B reconfigure to pass through DNS to clients
I have an NVG443B Frontier Router and while I want to retain DHCP, I would like the router to pass through to connected clients the static DNS settings I provided. Right now the router is providing DNS at 192.168.254.254. I've been running benchmarks that indicate better performance by bypassing the routers management of DNS. The router itself is using the statically assigned DNS IP's I provided, which are much faster than Frontier's default 74.40.74.40. Even 74.40.74.41 is much faster than Frontier's default.
Frontiers internal DNS address's 199.224.86.16, 199.224.127.78 are faster still than the 74.40's, but I prefer a public DNS (1.1.1.1) as my primary DNS, and 199.224.86.16 as secondary.
So I just want to bypass the router's DNS? I can't find an option to do only this.
Thanks!

Cant unplug ONT
So some type of outage might have happened (frontier keeps saying yes then no and wont give any info) and reseting/unplugging my router does not restore my internet or phone service. They tried some stuff on their end but ultimately i was told just reset my ONT. Directions are unplug from the wall and pull a led from the battery. re plug after 7 mins,
I unplugged the battery but all the outlets on this ont dont have anything plug in, i have no clue where/how to unplug it. only guess would be behind the craft lock? heres a picture of the ont (had fios 15+ years so guessing its an older model), any advice would be appreciated

[Internet] Order Confirmation Email - Pricing Wrong?
I was over at my mother's the other day and decided to call in to Frontier to see what the specials were for faster speed for Internet. I'm told for $10 more, she can go from 50/50 to 500/500 and asked if there was free install, which I was told yes. Great.. Placed the order (I'm authorized on the account)
She gets the confirmation email, and I noticed it said Triple play is $290. I look at the current bill... It says Triple play is $195. She currently has a term agreement that goes thru middle of next year, so I figured maybe they were quoting the difference between regular pricing of the 2 plans at regular rate, so I figured I would call back and check the next day. There was also a one time fee of $75 for the install
I called back the next day and a different representative answered and I mentioned the $10 difference and the confirmation email and last bill was showing roughly a $90 dollar difference.. I was told the emails they sent out with the dollar amount was incorrect and that she was seeing a roughly $10 increase. I then asked about the install fee, that I was told was going to be free.. She mentioned that they could have someone listen back to the call and credit back based on what was said, or to call back later on and see what they could do... I said to have someone listen to the call, as I was more concerned with the $90 difference in pricing then I was with the install fee at the moment..
So my question, can someone who ordered an speed upgrade with Frontier, confirm if the pricing on the order confirmation email is correct, or as I was told, was not?
Thanks

[Vantage] Replacement Arris NVG 589 now AT&T MicroCell Off line
Hi All,
I have Frontier Vantage (Formally Uverse) TV, phone and internet. Had a issue with my internet speed and frontier did some testing and got it working. They thought it was my modem so they sent out a replacement.
I swapped it out, changed all my devices WiFi passwords. Every thing went okay except my microcell stoped working.
The lights on it are, power light on, Ethernet light off, gps light on, computer light off (no computer plugged in to it), 3g light flashing green.
I’ve tried replacing the network cable, reset it by pulling the power cord, I’ve tried hard reset by pushing the small reset button on back following the instructions, checked my microcell account and all is good there.
I haven’t called Frontier yet, I don’t think they will be much help and tell me to contact AT&T.
I’m hoping someone here can help..... thank you

Line still not buried
I had service installed 3 weeks ago. My temp line is still draped across yard. Called into frontier and they supposedly are sending antech from 12 to 4 tomorrow. I am assuming this is not correct and they are sending a service tech who doesnt bury lines. Seems weird then drop team would have a service window available so soon.
Any chance these are the right techs and will be able to bury my line or do I need to call a specific number?
