Has anyone been successfully been able to get this charge removed from their service? I just had service installed and I'm not even using their stupid router.

Is anyone else experiencing excruciatingly slow speeds in Newberg tonight? It seems to be a recurring issue lately. I have a 200/200 subscription and right now struggling to get 2! Also I heard they sold the company when will the new company be in control? Should I even keep paying for this service since it’s so poor?

What is required for 500/500 upgrade from 200/200

Hello, I already have 200/200 at home so I have Ethernet running from ONT into home. I have been told that I need tech visit to get 500/500 during upgrade which I questioned since I said that I already have 200/200 with Ethernet. They told me they will try to upgrade from office and if it would not work then tech will visit. It has been 24 hours since order was placed now, does it mean but speed is still the same at home. Does it mean upgrade in fact requires some hardware changes at home or it might take longer then 24 hours ot activate?

intermit internet drops on fronter for 9 months

Hello over the last 9 months i have been having intermit drops that last about a second or two and happen at random times thru out the day could happen one a day could happen 9 there is no set time to it. i have made many about 6 calls to customer support and troubleshooted many things and nothing had worked it happened wireless and wired. I have factory reset the modem check every wire etc. however on July 8th it stopped dropping and it turned out my Arris NVG443B modem has gotten a firmware update to 9.3 something and for two week i had a perfect connection on July 25th at 12:45 am i had complete internet lose so i went to sleep. when i woke the next morning my internet was back up but the firmware of my modem was back to version 9.2.4h1d28 which was the firmware i had for months i believe during the drops and sure enough the drops started happening again. I dont know if it was just random or what because it seems to also do it when it has rained and if had not rained that much during that two weeks. but i'm out of ideas so if anyone had an idea or can help a customer support person or tech to understand what to do to fix this any suggestion would be appreciated

[DSL] Lost my bonded line

I'm at a complete loss here. For years I've had a bonded DSL line 24/1. Tues we lost the internet completely. Open a ticket on Weds., and the internet came back up on Thurs. morning, but only on one pair. The tech showed up today (Fri.) and said nothing he can do as I'm only subscribed to the 6mb service. Told him that's not true, and he said I'd have to call cust. service. I did that and over the course of more than 3 hours was transferred back and forth between cust. service and tech support. Each dept. said it was the other dept. that needs to fix. I had one cust. service lady (Michelle) that knew what the issue was, added the 2nd line back to my account, and put me on hold while she called tech support to have them do their piece. Unfortunately, the call dropped while on hold. Tech support did call me back, only to stay he has to transfer me to cust. support again. One other time an guy named Brandon seemed to know what the issue was as well. Told me he got things setup on his end and was calling tech support. Said he wasn't going to transfer me. Well I got transferred, and tech support again said sorry can't help. The last cust. service person said you're on the 6mb plan and he could upgrade me to the 12mb for an additional monthly charge! Sigh.. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but again was disconnected while on hold. It's just a shot in the dark posting here to see if anyone can offer an help. Thanks

Inbound connections fail a lot of the time

Hi folks About a week ago Frontier replaced my old ActionTec MOCA router with a NVG468MQ Ethernet based one. I am now experiencing an issue I did not have with the old router. I have a few inbound port forwarding rules set up. They work fine when connecting from outside, to a DDNS-configured hostname. However, if I connect from inside via the external IP address of the router, only some connection attempt works; the others time-out. For example, here is a series of tests connecting from outside in rapid succession, all successful: ➜ ~ telnet test.synology.me Trying 50.34.81.49... Connected to test.synology.me. Escape character is '^]'. Connection closed by foreign host. ➜ ~ telnet test.synology.me Trying 50.34.81.49... Connected to test.synology.me. Escape character is '^]'. Connection closed by foreign host. ➜ ~ telnet test.synology.me Trying 50.34.81.49... Connected to test.synology.me. Escape character is '^]'. Connection closed by foreign host. But from an internal host, many time out (I just killed them with Ctrl-C below): ➜ ~ telnet test.synology.me Trying 50.34.81.49... Connected to test.synology.me. Escape character is '^]'. Connection closed by foreign host. ➜ ~ telnet test.synology.me Trying 50.34.81.49... ^C ➜ ~ telnet test.synology.me Trying 50.34.81.49... ^C ➜ ~ telnet test.synology.me Trying 50.34.81.49... ^C ➜ ~ telnet test.synology.me Trying 50.34.81.49... ^C ➜ ~ telnet test.synology.me Trying 50.34.81.49... ^C ➜ ~ telnet test.synology.me Trying 50.34.81.49... Connected to test.synology.me. Escape character is '^]'. ^CConnection closed by foreign host. It's as if it will only allow a single connection from its own WAN IP address back to itself, and there is a delay in cleaning that up during which the following attempts are blocked (I'd put it at around 30 seconds before I can successfully connect again). This is really annoying as I use the DDNS hostname so that I can connect whether at home or away to some services on my server. The old router handled this fine. So, questions: - is there an explanation for this, and is there a fix/workaround? - if not, can I toss this router and use my own? I have an unused Asus AC68U lying around I could repurpose. Thanks! Graham

[FIOS] NVG468MQ MoCA Speeds (with 500/500)

Recently ran the gauntlet (separate rant) to get 500/500. Now I'm looking at my home network where I have a Bonded 2.0 MoCA extender (Actoiontec WCB6200Q specifically), best I'm seeing is 300/300 give or take 50. My guess is that the NVG468MQ router doesn't support bonded (reading the specs is not 100% clear). When I was 200/200 at the router, I was 200/200 off the extender. Anyone have any experience with MoCA and 500/500? Thoughts?

[Modem] Can Arris BGW210 be used for Frontier ?

Is there a way to get the ATT Arris BGW210-700 Gateway to work with Frontier Vantage Service? I currently get an Authentication error on the BGW210's Diagnostics web page: This test verifies authentication with the broadband network. Check authentication with network: Fail I know the BGW210 is not officially supported by Frontier. However, I currently have an Arris NVG589 working properly with my Frontier service - that gateway is also not supported, but was installed by ATT before Frontier took over this territory. Alternate firmware branches for the BGW210 seem unavailable.

I'm in the D/FW, TX area and am having issues accessing Dell's website. I can access the site from my home Charter connection just fine. www.dell.com resolves to the below... 23.67.240.11 A www1.dell-cidr.akadns.net CNAME I can't ping the address nor TraceRT it. I am attaching a screenshot of HE's Looking Glass site. Looks like a routing issue. Anyone else having issues? edit: Snort had blocked the domain. Fixed the false positive and all is well. My bad!

New internet box installed on my road

Ok so after 15 years of trying to get DSL service, I made an FCC complaint because their Broadband map said I should have 1mb to my house from Frontier. Corporate called and told me there's nothing they can do, sorry. So about 2 months later my phone goes out, I check the box outside, and its dead as well. So curiously I drove down the road and see Frontier guys digging on the shoulder. I stopped and chatted with them and they said it's for internet. See I'm 4miles away from the main office, but there's an overpass right before my road that the line doesn't cross apparently. So they said they moved over the overpass. So this box (I'm pretty sure its a DSLAM) is about a half mile into my road, and only 1.7 miles from my house. What are the odds of me getting DSL? It's been about 3 weeks, I've called Frontier a few times but they said its not showing up as available on their end. I feel like I'm holding my breath, i've been let down so many times trying to get internet at my house.

[FIOS] Process like for cancelling and reopening line in spouse's name?

$

Long story short: I am tired of paying near 80 bucks for 75/75 connection. Retentions offered me 500/500 for same price plus a 75 dollar service fee to upgrade. Regional pricing for new customers is 50 bucks a month (including router) plus a 100 dollar gift card to counter the 75 dollar service charge. I want in. People that have successfully cancelled one server and opened another in a spouse's name, what has your experience been like? Do I schedule an install in my wife's name BEFORE I cancel and schedule my cutoff day one day before? Or would I need to fully cancel THEN call in and schedule a technician to come out? I am trying to do this with the least amount of downage possible but could possibly hunker down and use my hot spots for a week for work and what not. Thanks and sorry if this has been covered before. I tried searching on here but didn't come up with much (or really anything).

Current price for 50/50?

$

I've been on FIOS for close to 10 years now in Oregon. I was on FIOS 30 until about a year ago and went to 50. I'm paying 55/month + 4 dollar surcharge, no contract or other deal. A family member moved but stayed in the same ZIP and moved her FIOS over and she told me that 50/50 is 39.99/month now. I see various things on their site but I can't tell if that is a promotional rate and involves getting the 10/month router fee getting tacked on. It looks like I could possibly be getting 500/500 for less than what I'm paying now except my ONT is still going to COAX (though a ethernet run could be accomplished easily to change that). I'm wondering if I'm paying too much for a non-contract price and whether it's worth it to see if I can get onto something else. I'm just worried about getting bumped to a higher price + router fee in the near future.
