Frontier DSL intermittent connection - low upload speeds

I have a tech coming to my house tomorrow (for the 7th time in a month) and I need help getting the tech to understand what is going on, but I don't really know much about this stuff! It started about a month ago when my password got kicked out of the modem (for whatever reason) and I called tech support. They couldn't figure out the problem, and we got disconnected. I finally realized that my password was missing from the router login page, I reentered it, and I was good to go. Next day a tech shows up. I tell him I didn't need or ask for a tech, and he explained that a ticket was issued stating that I was having disconnections problems. I explained the situation and he said he would have a look around anyways. Four hours later, he tells me that he fixed some stuff. Since that day, my internet connection has been terrible. I was only getting 1.5 mbps download and .35 mbps upload before he came out, but the line was stable and I could deal with the speeds. The service had been just fine for 5 years! After he left my speeds dropped drastically. Since then and 7 techs later, my download speed is around 1.3 download, but my upload speed has never fully recovered. It's around .15 mbps. I can deal with the slightly lower speed; however, I get disconnected constantly (and more so during the day). I don't lose internet connection, but the signal drops and it recovers 30 seconds to 1 minute later...very frustrating when you work from home. One of the techs did mention that he messed with the SNR, and stated that if he changed it again, that my speeds would be lower. I do believe that their solution will be to mess with the SNR again, which will leave me without an upload speed at all. Somewhere in between the 7 techs, my line was stable, but the upload was gone, and I couldn't even attach a small file to an email or upload a picture on Craigslist. Speedtest.net would often time out or just report my upload speed at 0.00 or if I was lucky .05 mbps. I've looked at the error logs on the Frontier router, and to me it looks like there are a ton of errors, but I don't know what any of it means. If anyone could help me decipher this, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I live pretty far from their station. I'm not sure of the distance, but the techs always bring it up, but it's not as if my location has changed. They also have told me that the lines are copper, old and junk, which is reassuring. I have their modem, but it is brand new Netgear d2200d, and I also have the older one, both give the same results. The SNR is usually 6.0 on the download and bounces around between 3 and 6 on the upload....again, I'm not 100% sure of what that means, but I have been keeping notice. I have noticed numbers as high as 47,000 in the TX FEC column (15 min intervals) if that means anything? When the techs come out, they replace modems, adjust settings, etc., but they don't fix anything. I keep explaining everything over and over, and I just don't know what else to do. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any tips or suggestions?
