Hi all,
My parents have Frontier DSL. The modem/router that Frontier gave them is a Westell 7500.
Starting a couple months ago, the wifi from this router started dropping out, and the problem is becoming more and more frequent. Power-cycling the device causes it to work again but now the wifi is dropping out multiple times per day and it's becoming pretty inconvenient for them.
During one of these dropouts, I connected a computer to the router via Ethernet. That works fine--the router is still connected to the internet, it's just the wifi that isn't working. I checked the router management pages. The router thinks wifi is working and there's literally nothing in the logs that would indicate interference or any other problem. I've tried changing the wifi channel. The router warns me that it will reboot, but after the supposed reboot, I still can't access the router via wifi. The only thing that gets wifi working again is power cycling.
Does anybody have any ideas for getting the wifi to work? Thank you in advance!
Sorry for posting a question that isn't about DSL or internet access. But i can't find any information about this router outside of Frontier forums, I guess because it's their standard equipment and not common otherwise.
