[FIOS] Interesting info when I called to cancel

I either lucked our or am in for a rude surprise in a while, but when I called to cancel my service today I was informed that it was cancelled when I ported my service over to another provider on December 9th. As such, the bill I was sent on December 10 should be disregarded - as I apparently owe nothing. (I took a ton of notes so as to make there's no question about what I was told. All that's left is for them to send me some boxes to return things in the mail. Curious if anyone who has been through this has been told the same thing and whether or not that turned out to be true? The downside: it took me 26 minutes to get a human on the phone. That's ridiculous. At least with Spectrum they offer to call you back when they've got someone available for you so you don't have to sit on the phone for so long.
