[FIOS] Frontier proactvely replaced ONT, claiming it was part of bad batch

Follow-up topic to an earlier post about Frontier calling me out of the blue wanting to replace my ONT... I had a Calix 722GE. When the tech arrived, he said they've been experiencing intermittent unreliability with some units of that model, and the serial numbers on mine indicated it was part of the bad batch. So they're proactively replacing them. Earlier I posted that I hadn't been having any connectivity issues, but that's actually too simplified of a view. I *have* on very sporadic occasions been having issues where my service would drop out for a few seconds or minutes and then restore itself. The tech said they're typically replacing the units in the bad batch with some totally different brand and model, but that would have required mounting it inside my garage (my setup is currently outside) and redoing the power supply also. Instead, he brought along a Calix 727GE, which is similar to the one I had but is usually used for business (has extra POTS and Ethernet ports vs. the 722GE). The whole swap took only a few minutes.
