Since upgrading to FIOS Quantum VMS 1100 from the Whole House QIP DVR my picture quality has been very poor.
I get "smearing" and "cloudy" pictures.
I have tried everything I could do before contacting you.
I did the following:
1. unplugged and rebooted the VMS1100 media server
2. unplugged and rebooted the IPC1100
3. Switched the boxes VMS1100 and IPC1100
4. Tried different settings - 1080p, 1080i, and 720i.
5. Used both Ethernet and coax cable for the IPC1100.
Last week Frontier Tech came to my home to fix (He was an old VZ Tech for 20 years)
1. Checked signal levels - all good
2. Had home office check light levels and errors to the ONT - all good
3. Said ONT and VZ advanced router were current and all Box software was current
4. Replaced the VMS1100 and same problem did not fix
He then told me he is having same problems with his 4K TV and has tried to change all the TV setting with no change.
I am having this problem on both LG OLED E6P 4K TV and Sony XBR900E 4K TV.
It's not that bad on older HD TV's
I have tried changing settings on both TV's.
He said it's something with the scan rates, mghz, or I didn't really understand.
Help?
1. Can anyone here please advise what the problem with Fronter FIOS is?
2. Technical answer would be appreciated.
3. I just signed up for new contract and triple play. Advice?
