I just upgraded to the 2gig service and they changed my ONT, I think the guy said it is a FOX222. They gave me one of those new Sagemcom routers too. The connection works fine with the Sagemcom router in place, but when I try to switch out the router with a ASUS router I can't seem to get it to work. The ASUS router gives some sort of error about "WAN DHCP not working" and the internet LED is blinking RED. I tried releasing the IP address but it didn't help. I tried cloning the MAC address of the Sagemcom router but that didn't seem to help. I tried shutting off power to everything (including ONT) for 1 hour, but it didn't help. When I log into the admin interface of the Sagemcom, under the WAN tab, I see some login credentials:
login: cpe_bootstrap@frontier.com
password: xxxxxxxxxxx
The password is not visible to me, and I can't copy/paste it either.
What is that stuff?
Do I need to type this into the ASUS router somewhere?
I never had to mess with anything like that on my old GPON ONT.
