I recently got Frontier Fiber 1gb for the first time. I have been doing tons of speed tests, testing my ping, tracing my routing and it's clear that something is terribly wrong with my routing after I go from Tampa-Miami. It's so bad that Spectrum Cable, which is not very good, actually has better ping to the same servers and better DL when doing speed tests. I am using a wired connection, have tried several different PCs/laptops, and even two different routers. The problem is most definitely outside of my house. I have a neighbor that uses Spectrum and provided the same tests that I did to an Amazon server in Virginia. if If I do a speed test to Tampa/Miami the speed the ping looks completely normal 2ms to tampa with 1gbps (7ms to Miami) and then after that any where I go to download/upload anything the service is degraded heavily. This happens with other servers in NYC, VA, DC, Chicago....doesn't really matter, but only providing one side by side comparison. What in the world is going on???
Ookla speed tests are to a different server, in NYC and DC. Pinging 38 there, and under 100mb download speed...I have labeled my neighbor using Spectrum Cable's speed tests with NEIGHBOR captions.
