So in CT, fiber is about to get active as you may know. I tried to see if I can get installation scheduled from now after talking to a couple people. The first person gave me this request form number that apparently just lead to an incomplete service request form. And the second person was telling me that I was required to pay a $60 deposit for a year to get my service scheduled. On top of the installation fee and the monthly service fee. They claim it was because of my Equifax credit, but my credit score is ~760. Has anyone else tried to get their service scheduled ahead of the June 17th date? What has your experience been like? Also they said that if I cancel service before the year they'll still refund me. I canceled my order because I don't like being robbed. So what's even the point? Cox does that to me every month as is.
The first guy was also telling me all these things about port reservations and getting that form in would allow me to get a direct connection to the central office. Not sure how that would possibly work with the line already ran, but I humored them as it didn't cost me any money to do so. Guess it didn't matter in the end.
Anyways, thoughts?
