New here, so Hi!
I got this problem. The setup: Phone line goes directly to a Telnote TL-1210 large format digital callerID display that I bought new in 2008. Yeah, it's old. So am I. Out of the Telnote the phone line continues to a Panasonic KX-TGL430 cordless phone base unit. Two hand sets. That's a total of 3 callerID displays, 1 on each of the handsets and the third one on the Telnote. I've had this set up and connected to frontier phone service for 10 years and it's worked fine.
Over that 10 year period of time, there have been DST adjustments twice a year. Making 20 time changes total. Every time the time Springs ahead or Falls back, my callerID's show the wrong time until the first incoming call is received, then it updates and it's aul Goodman.
But not this time... After 2 incoming calls, no change. The Telnote user manual states in the troubleshooting section,
"Time Inaccurate Due To Daylight Savings Time Change
Telnote will adjust to the correct time with the first call received after Daylight Savings Time goes into effect."
This leads me to believe that there is timestamp data, along with the caller name and number, sent with every incoming call.
Do I have that right?
Calling Frontier Tech support has been a nightmare. I've been trying to get them to send a timestamp to update my stuff. I was told that they DO NOT send a timestamp with incoming calls and that the time displayed comes from my phone itself. I believe this is a lie.
Do I have that right?
How the heck does this stuff work? I don't think I can change the time displayed on the Telnote. It's stuck on the time from before the time change. Maybe I can leave it unplugged for a week or maybe take it apart and remove battery inside?
I did change the time on the handsets and then got an incoming call and the time changed on the handsets to match the Telnote display.
