ADSL2+ Modem Question - Double NAT Issues

I just recently (finally) was able to upgrade to bonded DSL in my area and was given the dreaded Frontier/Arris NVG443B to replace my old 7550. While the speed increase has been super (3.7mb to the new ~12mb) i have been fighting a double NAT issue that's causing some pain. I use pfsense as my firewall/router for my home network, and i used to be able to bridge the 7550 and it was essentially fine. Now I have the NVG443B set with my pfsense instance in the DMZ, with the cascaded router settings, and while it essentially works; i have enough weird double NAT issues that I think I need to find a better solution. I have tried to set the Transparent Bridge mode on the NVG443B, but once I do the web interface throws "cgi-bin" errors on every GUI page. No config pages on the modem will load until a factory reset, and the PPPoE on pfsense won't connect as well. Right now, I have at least one device connected to wifi on the modem directly to bypass my home network (android TV because steaming services were really failing on the double NAT), and I occasionally have issues with my mobile devices and work machines (interferes with some tunneling and some VPN items for those). I'd really like to find a way to either turn of NAT in the Modem, Get the Transparent Bridge to work, or replace the modem with something that can bridge successfully. Any and all suggestions are welcome, and I apologize if this is similar to other posts
