I recently jumped on the Frontier FIOS 500/500 deal, and I'm not receiving anywhere near 500 down, generally between 350 during non-peak times and 250 during the evening window (4 pm -11 pm). The upload is consistently around 470-500. After multiple calls to Frontier, a very painful support system btw, they recommended I switch to the 1gig/1gig. After the upgrade, I'm still getting the 240-350 down and around +900 up. They are wanting to send a tech out, but my system was installed several days ago so I assume it is good, it was a new install.
From my reddit/forum searching and given the 900 uploads, am I chasing a problem that will never be resolved? I have read several posts that indicate Frontier has oversold or overloaded a node (sorry do not know the correct term), and it will be endless rounds of support with nothing fixed. I have new Ubiquiti equipment, which was working great on Comcast 1gig, besides the poor upload, and when testing with the provided router, it was worse.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to proceed - either moving back to Comcast or a recommendation to fix? I do large file CAD work from home and was excited to get the extra upload speed, but with 250 down, it's not optimal and I do not want to speed weeks chasing this issue... The 5 hours of phone time with Frontier is enough to drive any person to the ledge.
