My bundle discount is expiring in early October. I called last week to see what the new rate would be, and was told the increase was from $154.00 to $208.00. After some discussion, I stated that I could go to one of the other 2 providers in my area for a similar rate to what I was paying. She informed me that they would be unhappy if I left, and that I could come back after 31 days and get new customer pricing. It's no wonder these companies are struggling. The cost of losing a customer, paying to have the equipment returned, and paying to have new service installed if I return after 31 days.
I sent an email to the office of the president, and got a call 2 days ago, reiterating what the CSR told me, no effort to retain me as a paying customer. I asked how they benefit from having a known quantity(paying customer) leave, and chase a new unknown quantity with much lower pricing, and didn't get much of an answer. The presidents csr was very helpful when I asked what was the best time and timing to disconnect to avoid any fees.
Seems like a losing model, having customers roll off with little chance of returning, and hoping that new ones will sign on.
