This is an educational project for me. 1st post on dslreports and this forum. If I should post somewhere else please direct.
Like to be able to power up this 7550 without having to use a splitter (or curently using the supplied wall wart). Have this POE switch (Supports PoE+ IEEE 802.3at/af) that powers a couple of access points (one is about 300ft away at the barn) and would be able to supply POE power to the 7550 if I can figure out how to wire and not fry the modem.
Got the 7550 apart and kinda know I have to bridge two pins for DC+ and two for DC-. Of course need to run this to the barrel connector (?and supply 12v/1a per the wall wart?) Not sure which pins are to be soldered together and which is DC+ and DC- on the barrel connector. Looking for pictures of the motherboard and handholding to wire this up correctly.
Anybody who can help me fry this thing?
Not sure if it matters, but this is a Cat6 wired network. Outdoor Cat6 to the POE powered APs and over to this 7550 at the NID. And T568B wired.
