Current Network setup
1. Frontier Router B90-755044-15 ip 192.168.254.254
2. Linksys Ea9300 internal router ip 192.168.1.1 (assigned wan 192.168.254.42 from Frontier router)
3. Windows server with dual nic
Nic 1 connected to linksys 192.168.1.209
Nic 2 connected to Frontier 192.168.254.30
Previously had both nics going to linksys setup as ganged to provide 2gig link which was 192.168.1.50
I have been testing different configurations to get around nat loopback so this is the most current config setup.
Computers on 192.1.254.x and computers on 192.168.1.x can not see website hosted internally without using hosts config on computers but still no access to web sites on phones or tablets.from internal server.
Due to the fact I am sharing the Frontier internet from my parents house to mine next door (Joy's of elderly parents) I have to have the Frontier router first for them.
Wired port on Frontier to a mini switch
>port on switch to nic2 on server
>port on switch to linksys wan
Linksys port to server nic1
The 192.168.1.x is how my router was setup with comcast router in bridge mode prior to the move.
Current router config
linksys 192.168.1.1 port forward 80 to 192.168.1.209
Frontier 192.168.254.254 port forward 80 to 192.168.254.30
I can see devices between the 192.168.1.x and 192.168.254.x so traffic is traversing the routes but cant find the right config between both routers to fix loopback.
Is the 192.168.1.x and 192.168.254.x fighting? Should I move everything to 192.168.254.x with say linksys internal at 192.168.254.100 and server 192.168.254.101?
I did see one page where they did dns entry on the frontier config but it wasn't clear if I should do second router ip or server ip I have tried router ip, nic1 ip and nic2 ip address on Frontier ip.
Any ideas on how to make this work within this setup???????
