I thought there was a thread about this but I can't find it so I made a new one.
Actually, I'm not having any problems making any payments and the services and charges do match what I had with Vz. But what I do find interesting is the way my bank is making the payments. I never use any kind of Auto pay as I don't trust them to make the payments on a specific day each month but I do make the payments on-line at my bank's web site (Regions Bank, and I'm in the Tampa FL area).
With Vz the payment was always set up as electronic and you could make a payment effective the very next business day. So when I set up Fr as a payee, while Regions did list them as a local utility it was set up as a paper check payment. No big deal. So I went to make my first payment last month and the quickest was 3 or 4 business days and it was indicated as a paper check. Then on the day the paper check was to arrive, my bank cleared the amount and I went to the Fr web site and indeed the payment was shown. But how could the paper check be delivered and cleared on that exact day. Well, the bank now showed that it was an electronic payment!
OK now to the current bill and again when I went to pay it the bank's web site indicated it would be a paper check with 3 or 4 business days and even had an option for express delivery next business day for an extra $15. So I set up the payment for the 3-4 business days. Yesterday was when the paper check was to arrive and AGAIN the check was cleared by my bank and shows up in the payment history on Fr's web site. And again the bank now indicated its an electronic payment!
So in summary I'm not really having any problems and whether the payment is in reality a paper check or electronic is irrelevant since I always pay it early. But I do find it interesting that Fr seems to be unique in that its listed as a paper check only payee yet in reality the payments are made electronically, albeit in 3-4 business days vs. 1 business day.
Interesting!
