So, what exactly is "TV Quantum Enhanced Experience"

Early September I negotiated a renewal (legacy verizon contract expiring) and things are falling apart. Somehow the actual bills have no resemblance to what I was offered (and agreed on!) and they are charging me ~$15..$20 more than negotiated (Yes, they gave me exact numbers before taxes&fees). I am still in contact with billing (frontier direct, etc.) but will post more details once things are sorted out. Anyway, this post is about something else: I have 1 TV and 1 DVR and the bill contains two itemized things: (1) FiOS TV Quantum Whole-Home DVR (2) FiOS TV Quantum Enhanced Experience I have not gotten a satisfactory answer what item (2) is ($10 extra) and why I need that. Here is some history: When I originally looked at the work order for the service upgrade, (2) was not there, but "frontier secure" was there, which I explicitly rejected. I called and they took it off. A few days later "enhanced experience" showed up out of the blue on the work order, so I chatted again and she explain to me that it is required for DVR service and there is no additional charge for it. Another few days later, the upgrade install was made (swap out old verizon DVR with new DVR and pull ethernet from the ont). The pull was required because they wanted me to go 150/150 because it was cheaper than my current 100/100 due to a promotion (... which, as almost anything else so far, turned out to be a blatant lie). On a later chat, I asked what would happen if we remove (2), and the answer was "Zilla: We can remove the Enhanced Experience for your DVR. You can still record shows but can no longer play or pause live TV shows." This does not sound right! What??? No longer play or pause live TV shows? :o A DVR where you cannot watch live TV, just record? That's a new one for me! :D ... maybe all it contains is write-only memory :) So, obviously there are conflicting answers on what (2) actually is and why I need it. Is there a clear itemized list what it actually is? (as I said, I only have one TV, not even a need for that "whole home" stuff!). Thanks!
