I have FIOS 30/30 service in Washington state. Since December my service has had three separate multi-day outages. The second time this happened and the tech came out he told me the issue was because the ONT was in a condition called "E-Stop" and that it could be reset remotely by Frontier if I mentioned it to the customer support reps.
So this most recent 3 day outage I called customer support and talked to a couple of service reps and I mentioned that it could be fixed with some remote message called "E-stop". One rep also contacted the NT department to try to reset the ONT. But none of these things were successful.
The tech came out and confirmed that I was down due to E-stop and it could have been fixed remotely saving me the downtime. He swapped in a new ONT in case that was the problem.
I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with this E-stop problem? I like Frontier when it is working and the price is better than Comcast, but I can't keep using Frontier if it can randomly go down for multiple days at any time. I could deal with it if there was someone knowledgeable that I could call who could quickly do a remote reset on the ONT. Or maybe the swapped ONT will probably fix the problem?
