Actiontec MI424WR REV I
50/50 service
background: shared service in a 2 story house, im kind of the "it guy" as the account owner is elderly. In California. all the ISP are rather meh, and verizon was decent before so would like to stick with them.
Owner finally gave me physical access to the router so i can now manage it via its setting and can connect directly to diagnose it. problem is during the installation the only place they could set up the router was downstairs in a place where nobody can really set up a pc to connect with an Ethernet port. (have to sit on the floor with my laptop to connect)
Recently spoke with Frontier, who had me run a wired test. was getting around 25down/60up
Made an appointment for them to come check it out, owner of the account was not home so nothing happened.
Is there anything i can do with the router settings to help? its on automatic channel.
my goal is to be able to stream atleast a 720p video without all this endless buffering.
there is an appletv set up in the entertainment room, but i use airplay so an Ethernet connection would not help that much
