My In-laws have been having off & on issues with their connection. According to them, when they call tech support, they come out & show nothing is wrong with the line.
When I go over, the modem will occasionally disconnect (either the DSL light &/or the Internet light will go out). Reboot the modem, & everything is back up & running.
However the one that seems to come up more is that anything connected to the modem by wireless will disconnect & it can't be connected, unless the modem is rebooted. The one part that I couldn't check is to see if having a device hardwired to the router still worked (all of their devices are on wireless) That being said, what's interesting is all the normal lights are still on (DSL, Internet, Wireless, etc)
Based on this I had a few questions:
1) Is the Netgear 7550 modem the latest & greatest Frontier offers? I would think they would offer something more recent ?
2) Has anybody else experienced this issue with the built in wireless? I was thinking of picking up a separate Wireless router & bridging the modem.
Thanks
